Debt Management with Minimum Payments
This is the best case scenario for the credit card companies, but it is certainly not the best Debt Management solution for you. If you've been paying your monthly minimums, you'll notice that they don't make much of a dent in your balance. They're designed to create the maximum revenue for the credit card company, and so you'll pay the most for any credit used.
- Absolutely the most expensive way to pay off your debt. You will pay many times over the original debt owed.
- Debt freedom remains only a fantasy in this payment scheme, as it can take 30 years or more to complete.
- New Leaf's debt settlement program costs a tiny fraction in comparison to this option.
- Debt Freedom is a reality in 2-3 years, sometimes less.
If you've paid late, or incurred any over-the-limit fees, your outstanding balance may actually increase even though you're making payments! This debt relief method is no way to make progress on eliminating your debt.
A better debt help solution is to pay off your credit cards by setting a fixed sum to pay every month. While you will pay your balances off faster, it will still take almost three times as long as making the same payment while in New Leaf's debt negotiation or Debt Management program.
Other forms of debt relief include: Credit Card Debt, Consumer Credit Counseling and Debt Consolidation Program.
